A burned out light. Sirens blue red white flashing, pulled over by the police. The officer took my license and questioned me about the intoxicating aroma protruding from my vehicle. Stay calm you have done nothing here. No drugs weaopns or warrants. Give the man your paperwork include your OMMP card, sure why not, say NOTHING. After a quick check of my documents the officer seemed satisfied then attention turns a missing back bumper. Questions. Answers. Broken weld hunting getting fixed, yes sir ASAP sir. Then something strange from the officer "Spend a lot of time in the woods huh, better be careful on BLM or National Forrest because that's patrolled by the Feds." A warning? A threat? A chill runs up my spine as I realize over 50 percent of Oregon is owned, controlled, and patrolled by the Federal Government. Thanks for the heads up officer and I will be sure to pass the message.
